For the love of the game and for his people

Nestled among the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes on the Balletto Vineyards winery site is a four acre surprise...a regulation sized baseball field.

John Balletto's hardworking vineyard staff approached him and asked if he would sponsor their league baseball team. In true John Balletto fashion, he went above and beyond. The Balletto family set four acres of land aside and donated the materials while the vineyard crew donated the labor, so everyone feels a sense of ownership and pride.

If you come by the winery on Sundays during the spring and summer you will hear the sounds of bats cracking, children laughing and the occasional cheers.

This truly is our own "Field of Dreams"

"There are some pretty cool baseball diamonds in California. The cove-abutting confines of AT&T Park, the historic Oakland Coliseum, Chavez Ravine's Dodger Stadium and the host of this summer's All-Star Game -- Petco Park. About 40 miles north of San Francisco, in Sonoma County, lies another unique field."

"W.P. Kinsella’s vision of a fantasy baseball team cracking balls in the middle of an Iowa cornfield holds nothing to the unlikely site of Balletto Vineyard’s “Field of Dreams,” carved out among the vines in Sonoma’s Wine Country."
